Repair or replace? We’ll tell you honestly.

Not every leak means a new roof. Many problems come down to a failed pipe boot, lifted flashing or a few damaged shingles. When a roof is near the end of its life, or storm damage is widespread, replacement is usually the better investment.

We inspect the roof and the attic underneath it, then show you photos and explain your options. If storm damage is involved, we document it for your insurance claim.

What’s included in a roof replacement

  • Free roof and attic inspection with photos
  • Full tear-off down to the decking
  • Damaged or rotted decking replaced (itemized in your estimate)
  • Synthetic underlayment, plus ice-and-water shield in valleys and at penetrations
  • New drip edge, flashing, pipe boots and vents
  • Attic ventilation review: ridge, soffit and exhaust balanced to spec
  • Shingles installed to the manufacturer’s high-wind nailing pattern
  • Magnetic nail sweep, full cleanup and manufacturer warranty registration

Roofing services

  • Leak repairs: pipe boots, flashing, valleys, skylights and chimney leaks
  • Storm and hail repairs: emergency tarping, shingle replacement and insurance documentation
  • Full replacements: architectural asphalt shingles, impact-resistant shingles and metal roofing
  • Gutters and ventilation: new gutters, ridge vents and attic exhaust

Ask about impact-resistant shingles

Class 4 impact-resistant shingles hold up better to hail, and many Texas insurers offer premium discounts for them. Ask your agent what discount applies to your policy, and we’ll price both options.

How much does a new roof cost?

For a typical 2,000 sq ft home in Greater Houston, asphalt shingle replacements commonly range from $11,000 to $22,000 depending on roof size, pitch, shingle line and decking repairs. Leak repairs often run $450 to $2,000. See our pricing page for more.

Roofing FAQs

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most single-family roof replacements are completed in one to two days, weather permitting. Larger or steeper roofs and extensive decking repairs can add time.

How long does a shingle roof last in Houston?

Heat, UV, humidity and storms are hard on roofs. Many asphalt shingle roofs in our area last roughly 15 to 25 years, depending on shingle quality, ventilation and storm history.

Will insurance pay for a new roof?

If a covered event like wind or hail damaged it, your policy may pay for repair or replacement minus your deductible. Wear and tear isn’t usually covered. Many Texas policies pay roofs on actual cash value rather than replacement cost, so check your policy. We document the damage so the adjuster sees the full picture.
