Insurance claim help

Make sure your claim covers all of the damage

Claims are decided on documentation. We give your adjuster a complete, accurate picture of the damage: detailed photos, moisture readings and a line-item estimate in the format insurers use. Free with every restoration project.

Why claims come up short

After a major storm, adjusters may inspect dozens of homes a week. Damage inside walls, under flooring or in the attic is easy to miss in a quick walkthrough, and anything left out of the initial estimate usually isn’t paid for unless someone documents it.

That’s where we come in. We inspect thoroughly, document everything, and keep documenting as hidden damage is uncovered during repairs.

How we support your claim

  • Thorough inspection of roof, attic, exterior and every affected room
  • Time-stamped photos and video before anything is removed
  • Moisture mapping and drying logs for water losses
  • Line-item estimate using industry-standard estimating software
  • On-site meeting with your adjuster to walk through the damage
  • Supplement documentation when hidden damage is found
  • Help understanding your insurer’s estimate, depreciation and payment schedule

What to do right after damage

  1. Stay safe and prevent further damage (shut off water, cover openings) if you can do so safely.
  2. Document everything with photos and video before cleanup begins.
  3. Report the claim to your insurer promptly and write down your claim number.
  4. Keep receipts for emergency repairs, hotel stays and supplies.
  5. Don’t throw out damaged items until your adjuster says it’s okay, or photograph them thoroughly.
  6. Get a detailed inspection from a local, reputable contractor.

What we do, and what we don’t

Texas law doesn’t allow contractors to act as public adjusters, so we don’t negotiate your claim or advocate on your behalf with the insurer. We provide accurate documentation and estimates. We also never waive, absorb or rebate deductibles, which is illegal in Texas. If you want someone to negotiate for you, you can hire a licensed public adjuster or attorney, and we’ll work alongside them.

Understanding your claim payments

Many policies first pay actual cash value (replacement cost minus depreciation), then release the withheld recoverable depreciation after repairs are completed. If you have a mortgage, checks are often made out to you and your lender, and the lender may release funds in stages. We work within that process and tie our payment schedule to it.

Insurance claim FAQs

Does it cost extra for claim support?

No. Documentation, estimates and adjuster meetings are part of every restoration project we take on. The inspection and estimate are free even if you decide not to hire us.

Should I call you or my insurance company first?

Both, as soon as you can. If damage is active (water coming in, an open roof), call us first so we can stop it from getting worse, then report the claim. Emergency mitigation is typically part of a covered claim.

What if my claim is denied or underpaid?

We’ll give you an honest assessment and written documentation. Options can include requesting a re-inspection, invoking your policy’s appraisal clause, or consulting a public adjuster or attorney. The choice is yours, and we’ll support it with documentation.
