Emergencies

What should I do first if my home is flooding or leaking?

Stay safe first. If water is near outlets or the electrical panel, don’t walk through it; turn off power at the breaker only if you can do so safely. Shut off the main water valve for plumbing leaks. Take photos and video of everything before cleanup, move valuables to a dry area, then request emergency service and notify your insurance company.

How quickly can you respond?

For active leaks, open roofs and post-fire board-ups we dispatch as fast as possible, often the same day. After major regional storms demand is high, so we triage the most urgent situations first and give you an honest arrival window.

Why does drying need to start so fast?

Drywall, insulation and wood absorb water quickly, and in our humid climate mold can begin growing within 24 to 48 hours. Fast extraction and drying often means we can save materials that would otherwise have to be torn out, which shortens the rebuild and lowers the cost.

Can you tarp my roof or board up windows after a storm?

Yes. Emergency tarping and board-up are usually the first things we do after wind, hail, fallen-tree or fire damage. They protect your home from further damage while the claim and repairs get underway.

Insurance claims

Do you work with my insurance company?

Yes, we work with all major carriers. We document the damage, prepare a detailed line-item estimate in the format adjusters use, meet your adjuster on-site and submit supplements if hidden damage is found during repairs.

Can I choose my own contractor?

Yes. It’s your home, and you get to decide who rebuilds it, even if your insurer suggests a preferred vendor. Your claim is based on the damage, not on which contractor you hire.

Will you waive or cover my deductible?

No. Texas law prohibits contractors from waiving, absorbing or rebating an insurance deductible, and it can put your claim at risk. Anyone offering to “cover your deductible” is a red flag.

Are you a public adjuster? Will you negotiate my claim?

No. In Texas, contractors can’t act as public adjusters or negotiate a claim on your behalf. What we do is make sure the damage is thoroughly documented and accurately estimated, which is what claims are decided on. If you want someone to negotiate for you, you can hire a licensed public adjuster or attorney, and we’ll work alongside them.

What if my insurance estimate is lower than yours?

It happens often, usually because hidden damage wasn’t visible at the first inspection or line items were missed. We walk you through the differences, provide supporting photos and documentation, and submit supplements to the insurer when additional damage is found.

My claim was denied. Can you still help?

We can inspect the damage and give you an honest assessment and a written estimate. Whether to appeal is your decision; some homeowners request a re-inspection, others go through appraisal or consult a public adjuster or attorney. We can also simply quote the repair as a direct-pay project.

Restoration

How long does a water damage restoration take?

Drying typically takes three to five days. The rebuild depends on the scope: a single room might take one to two weeks, while a full first-floor flood rebuild commonly takes two to four months, including insurance approvals and material lead times.

Can I stay in my home during repairs?

Often, yes, for smaller jobs. We set up dust barriers and work room by room. For major flood or fire damage it’s usually safer to stay elsewhere. Many homeowners policies include additional living expenses (ALE) coverage, so check your policy.

Do you handle mold?

We prevent mold through fast, documented drying and remove affected materials as part of water restoration. Texas regulates mold assessment and larger mold remediation projects, so where required we work with licensed mold assessors and remediators and follow their protocol.

Do you match existing materials?

We do our best to match flooring, trim, texture, paint and siding. When an exact match isn’t available, we’ll show you options and explain how it affects the look and the claim.

Remodeling

Can I upgrade while you’re repairing damage?

Yes, and it’s often the smartest time to do it, since walls and floors are already open. Upgrades are priced separately from the insurance scope so it’s always clear what’s covered and what you’re paying for.

How long does a kitchen or bathroom remodel take?

A bathroom remodel typically takes three to six weeks of construction, and a full kitchen six to twelve weeks. Design and material lead times (especially cabinets) add time before we start, which is why we plan selections up front.

Do you help with design?

Yes. We help with layout, material and finish selections, and provide drawings for permits when required. If you already have a designer or architect, we’re happy to build from their plans.

Do you pull permits?

Yes. We pull the permits your city requires and schedule the inspections. Permit fees are included in your estimate.

Pricing & payment

Is the inspection and estimate really free?

Yes. The on-site inspection and written estimate are free with no obligation, and the estimate is yours to keep.

How much of a deposit do you require?

We use a milestone payment schedule tied to completed work, never a large upfront payment. Insurance jobs follow the insurer’s and mortgage company’s release schedule. Be cautious of any contractor who wants most of the money before work starts.

What happens if you find more damage once walls are open?

We stop, document it with photos, and explain it to you before doing any extra work. For insurance jobs we submit a supplement to your insurer; for direct-pay jobs we write a change order for your approval.

Do you offer financing?

Ask us about financing options for remodels and for costs not covered by insurance. We’ll walk you through what’s available when we prepare your estimate.

Our company

What areas do you serve?

We serve Greater Houston, including Houston, Katy, Sugar Land, Cypress, The Woodlands, Spring, Pearland, Pasadena, League City, Humble, Kingwood, Friendswood and surrounding communities. See all service areas.

Are you insured?

Yes. We carry general liability insurance, and we’re happy to provide certificates of insurance to you or your mortgage company.

What warranty do you offer?

Our workmanship is backed by a 5-year written warranty. Manufacturer warranties on materials like roofing, windows and fixtures are passed on to you, and we help register them.

How do I spot a storm-chaser?

Be cautious of door-to-door contractors after a storm who ask for large upfront payments, offer to cover your deductible, pressure you to sign immediately, or have no local address. Ask for proof of insurance, local references and a written, itemized contract.
